Jetstar commences 787 DreamLiner services

Jetstar will commence domestic passenger flights today, 13 November with its 787-8 Dreamliner. Flight JQ 432 will leave Melbourne Tullamarine at 1100 arriving at the Gold Coast at 1205. The 787 arrived on 09 October and has been performing a series of route proving flights primarily from Melbourne to Cairns and the Gold Coast. For the next month it will serve these two cities as regular passenger services before being deployed on international services.

Jetstar’s 787 will be configured in a very high density accommodating a total of 335 passengers in a two class configuration. It will have 21 conventional seats in Business Class in a 2 x 3 x 2 layout and 314 seats in Economy a 3 x 3 x 3 layout.  After the month long trial of domestic services from Melbourne to the Gold Coast and Cairns are completed, the first international service is schedule to commence on 18 December as flight JQ 35 from Melbourne to Denpasar (Bali). Jetstar will ultimately have a fleet of fifteen 787-8s to serve its current A330 destinations. The A330s will progressively be returned back into QANTAS mainline.
