Virgin Atlantic set to launch Heathrow – Moscow services

Jul 10, 2012 No Comments by

Virgin Atlantic is planning to launch Heathrow – Moscow services should it be successful in securing slots. These slots will become available as a consquence of BA’s takeover of British Midland-BMI. As approval of the takeover BA is required to release some of BMI’s Heathrow slots.

”Our core flying has always been across the Atlantic but we have been clear that we will also continue to grow our routes to emerging markets if given the slots at London Heathrow. Moscow would be our third Bric country and we think it is imperative for British trade that we are operating in these economies.” – Steve Ridgway, Virgin Atlantic, Chief Executive.
